FE Week Annual Apprenticeship Conference & Exhibition 2020

Mindful Education attended and exhibited at the FE Week Annual Apprenticeship Conference (AAC) at the ICC in Birmingham on 2-3 March 2020. It was a busy two days, as we discussed our Online and On Campus professional apprenticeships with delegates, attended insightful breakout sessions and delivered our own workshop. The conference came to a close with the gala dinner and awards ceremony, where Mindful Education hosted a table of guests from across the further education and skills sector.

Exhibition teams at the ready

Both days began bright and early at the Mindful Education stand, where our team was ready to share Online and On Campus apprenticeships with delegates. We discussed how we work in partnership with employers and colleges, as well as demonstrating our bespoke Virtual Learning Environments.

Keynote sessions

Away from the stand, we also had the chance to attend several keynote sessions presented by prominent members of the further education and apprenticeship sector. These informative sessions explored a range of topics from policy and funding, to what the future has in store for apprenticeships.

Workshop on the DfE’s edtech strategy 2019

On day two, Mindful Education’s Managing Director, Mark Mckenna, delivered a workshop exploring what DfE’s 2019 EdTech Strategy, and what it means for apprenticeships. In the session, Mark was joined by Karen Spencer, Principal and CEO of Mindful Education’s partner Harlow College. Karen shared her views on edtech and explained how she embedded technology into the college – which is the UK’s only Apple-accredited college.

Apprenticeship Awards

We ended the conference on a high note by hosting a table at the conference’s gala dinner and apprenticeships awards, which celebrate the colleges, employers and training providers who work tirelessly for their apprentices and the learning and skills sector. It was fantastic to see so many of Mindful Education’s college partners featured on the shortlists, and we delighted to see Abingdon & Witney College take home the award for Engineering and Manufacturing Apprenticeship Provider of the Year!
