AoC Annual Conference 2021

Mindful Education attended and exhibited at the AoC Annual Conference at the ICC in Birmingham on 16 -17 November 2021. It was a packed two days catching up with college teams, with many of whom it was our first time meeting in person. The team also attended insightful breakout sessions and delivered our own workshop, hosted by our MD Mark Mckenna. Mark spoke about ‘countering the threat of distance learning to college part-time courses and apprenticeships,’ which led to some interesting and fruitful conversations with delegates who attended.

New stand

The conference began a day prior for a couple of our team members who went ahead to help get the brand new stand ready. The new stand included an island whereby visitors could experience a demo from one of our team. We received such wonderful feedback about the stand design from visitors and other exhibitors, so thank you to Alchemy Expo who worked with us to design it.

The stand also featured an updated version of our promotional video, created by Jack, an animated motion specialist in our Creative team. The video played throughout the conference on our stand.

Professional course brochure

In addition to a new stand, we also updated our professional courses brochure – it has lots of key information and statistics around our courses, pass levels, and the work we do with our college partners. The brochure was handed out to delegates with whom the team had conversations with. You can view the full version here

Gala dinner

After the first day of the conference came to a close, the team attended the Gala Dinner. At the dinner, delegates and exhibitors were able to catch up with each other having not seen each other for so long due to Covid-19, and also meet with new people in the sector. mingle and have discussions outside of the conference. The evening also featured performances by college students as well as food prepared by catering students. This event was a great opportunity for our team to catch-up with our  current partners to meet  and have discussions with sector professionals.

Pack up

After an eventful two days, it was finally time to pack up the stand and say goodbye to the conference for another year. A big well done to our team members for all their hard work in the lead up to the conference, and throughout.
