The Company

At Mindful Education we specialise in creating media-rich professional courses.

The courses we build and deliver with UK colleges contain:

  • Online lectures, which are scripted and presented by academics
  • Motion graphics and animations that augment the student experience
  • Case studies and online exercises

These are embedded in our bespoke Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), which host the content we create.

We are passionate about setting a new standard in the digital delivery of education for our learners. We’re a friendly, open-minded and hard-working team, usually based in Soho, London, but currently working remotely.

In 2019, we were named EdTech Company of the Year at the UK Business Technology Awards and this year we have won a Learning Excellence Award for Design, Content Creation and Video and a  PQ Magazine Award for Best Study Resource.

We are expanding our content and editorial team, seeking a full time Editor/Content Manager role to work on our Human Resources, Management and Law courses.

Working closely with our Head of Content Development, Head of Production & Film and in-house production and motion graphics teams, you will ensure that our VLE copy and media elements work together cohesively, and in keeping with the Mindful style. There is potential to expand the role into video script editing assignments as you gain experience.

  • Ensuring consistency and accuracy across our content on the VLE
  • Giving due consideration to whether illustrations, and interactive media on the VLE are appropriate, by discussing this with the relevant subject academic and the digital development team.
  • Overseeing the creation of lesson materials and subtitles
  • To liaise with the Head of Content Development, writers/academics and the multimedia production team to finalise all VLE elements using HTML on our CMS platform
  • To contribute to the development of the VLE style guide
  • Video review responsibilities as part of the post-production process
  • To line manage any copy related work performed by our Production Assistant, including fact checking and researching all content
  • To provide additional structural editorial support or marketing copy writing support, where required on a project by project basis

  • Experience of working across teams, preferably in a coordinating role

  • Ability to work collaboratively and collegially in a fast-paced environment, and under deadline pressure

The following skills, experience and attributes would be an advantage:

A note on location and the impact of Coronavirus

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Mindful Education team has been home-based, and all team members have been working remotely, except on shoot days when we film at our in-house studio, based in Essex following strict social distancing guidelines. We do not know what the future holds in terms of ongoing lockdown and social distancing requirements, therefore this role will be initially home based except on shoot days. Going forward, when government guidance states that it is safe to do so, the role holder may be required to work from our offices in Soho.
