Marketing spotlight – Heather Almond at North Hertfordshire College
In this blog series, we will be shining a spotlight on college marketing teams from across our network of partners. We’ll be finding out a bit more about them and their work, and their experiences of working with the Mindful Education marketing team.
In this blog, we speak to Heather Almond, Head of Marketing and Communications at North Hertfordshire College.
What do you consider to be the top three highlights of your job?
The people I work with make every day in this role such an enjoyable experience. I also appreciate the sector I work in, as it provides so many opportunities for people who may not have realised their potential.
What is the most interesting marketing activity or project you have recently worked on?
There is so much about my job that is interesting, and the beauty of this role means I am working on something different every day of the week.
I genuinely find everything we work on to be fun, exciting, and meaningful. Whether it’s organising an event, getting noticed in the media, identifying award-worthy students, staff, and projects, or reviewing content the team has created, it all brings me so much enjoyment. I feel very privileged to be in this role.
How has working with the Mindful Education marketing team helped to support your marketing efforts for online and on-campus courses?
Mindful Education are a great support for our marketing campaigns; they work closely with us to ensure we are provided with relevant and captivating content. It’s always a pleasure to catch up with Rehanna Khan, our partner marketing lead, to review campaigns, see new collateral, and talk through ideas. It’s also reassuring to know that Mindful Education are working hard in the background, completing the market research we need to identify suitable audiences and develop relevant content that gets results. This aspect of the partnership is particularly advantageous and supports us as a marketing team in ensuring all our content remains relevant.

How would you describe the Mindful Education Partner Hub when finding the resources you need?
The resources in the Partner Hub are excellent: they are kept up to date, easily accessible, and provide our team with a single place to find what we need. We often work in partnership with the Mindful Education marketing team to discuss relevant content and resources that will benefit our prospective learners and ensure we reach them in the best way.
The social media assets, in particular, help ensure consistent messaging across platforms and are available at the click of a button. These have proven to be especially useful for our organic promotional campaigns and audience engagement.
How has this support helped you save time or resources when promoting courses to prospective learners?
We are a small team at NHC, with lots of ground to cover, so it’s great when the Mindful Education team can provide a range of resources and their support – they often feel like ‘our extended team’!
Above all, it’s a truly collaborative experience where the exchange of good practice and ideas can take place. I look forward to us continuing to work together in the year ahead.
