Head of Learning: Management and HR

Period/Terms: Full time or 4 days per week
Salary: £60,000FTE
Location: London office with working from home available

In partnership with colleges around the UK, we create award-winning courses that contain:

  • Online lectures, which are scripted and presented by academics and practitioners
  • Motion graphics and animations that augment the student experience
  • Case studies and online exercises; and
  • Bespoke Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) that host the content we create

The Role
We are seeking an accomplished individual to lead the development of our professional courses and apprenticeships in management and HR. The individual will be responsible for leading our team of academics and experts in management and HR, as well as making an important contribution to the wider strategic aims of Mindful Education as a member of our Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
As Head of Learning for Management and HR, you can expect to:

  • Lead the course development of our professional courses and apprenticeships in management and HR at Levels 3 and 5
  • Act as a management and HR expert
  • Lead our team of academics and experts in management and HR
  • Work from published materials to develop relevant and engaging course content, media-rich learning resources, and a first-class learner experience
  • Act as academic quality controller for content produced by our team of writers, in order to maintain first-class quality, academic integrity, and consistency of experience for learners
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with clear production scheduling that encompasses writing, editorial, film, post-film edit, motion graphics, digital learning and quality assurance for our market-leading products
  • Keep up to date with changes in professional body qualifications, in particular the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • Collaborate on relevant projects with other teams at Mindful Education, notably our Managing Director, Head of Product, Head of Production & Film, Head of Content Development, Creative Director and Director of Operations
  • Liaise with external stakeholders across different contexts and levels of seniority in a professional and engaging manner
  • Represent Mindful Education at relevant external events
  • Contribute to the wider aims of Mindful Education as a member of the company’s Leadership Team

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Academic qualification to Level 7
  • Professional qualification in the field of management or HR
  • An excellent grasp of learning theory
  • Full membership of a recognised professional body, such as CIPD or CMI
  • Strong knowledge of academic regulation and quality process requirements mapping learning outcomes to learning content through detailed Schemes of Work
  • Adept at producing written learning content clearly and concisely
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of professional writers
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members who have different roles and associated skill sets
  • Skilled communicator across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to moderate and quality assure academic content across different media formats

Desirable:

  • A recognised teaching or training qualification
  • Able to work across a range of mixed media and technology, including  collaborative software such as google docs
  • Extensive experience of working with Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)
  • Experience of mapping qualification outcomes to course materials via Schemes of Work, together with the creation of Lesson Plans
  • Interest in – and experience of – working on blended learning delivery models
  • Project management experience
