This mid-level human resources qualification will help you gain a deeper understanding of the professional behaviours that lead to organisational success. Learn how to manage relationships, foster talent, guide strategic planning and reward performance.

This qualification is perfect for HR professionals who enjoy developing and managing people. You will expand your knowledge of HR with a combination of core units and specialist areas – helping you focus on what matters most to you.

This flexible course is delivered in partnership with colleges and training providers across the UK and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom, referred to as Online and On Campus.

What will I learn?

This qualification provides a strong foundation to give people professionals the confidence and capabilities to guide their decision-making, actions and behaviours.

Study method

This course is delivered through our flexible Online and On Campus blended learning model.

Online, you will study Mindful Education’s award-winning video lessons, which are available on demand, and can be viewed from your phone, tablet or computer – meaning you can choose how, when and where you want to study. Lessons last for around 45-60 minutes and are accompanied by animations and motion graphics to bring concepts to life. Practice questions, downloadable lesson materials and interactive case studies help to enhance the learning experience further and learners should expect to spend around 3-4 hours studying independently online each week. 

On campus, you benefit from regular classes with your college or training provider – without having to commit to attending multiple evenings each week. Your tutor will review what you have learnt during your online lessons and will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Regular discussion with classmates will help to reinforce key points while also providing the additional support and motivation that comes from being part of a group. 

Units of study

Learners will study three core units, three specialist units and the choice of 1 optional unit:

Core units:

  • Organisational performance and culture in practice
  • Evidence-based practice
  • Professional behaviours and valuing people

Specialist units:

  • Employment relationship management
  • Talent management and workforce planning
  • Reward for performance and contribution

Optional units can be discussed with your tutor.

How will I be assessed?

Assignments are set by CIPD for each unit and learners will be required to pass all units to achieve the qualification. 

Entry requirements

Learners will be expected to hold 5 GCSEs at grade 5 (C) or higher. Prior experience may also be considered. Learners should also have achieved qualifications in English and mathematics at GCSE or equivalent. A level 3 CIPD qualification is preferred.

Progression

Successful achievement of the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management will allow progression to study higher CIPD Associate Level 7 qualifications.

Career opportunities

When you complete the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, you’ll be awarded CIPD Associate Membership, and the designation “Assoc CIPD” after your name. This establishes your credibility as a professional, raises your profile and opens doors to new job opportunities.

Additional information

The duration of this part-time course is typically 12 months. On campus attendance is one day per fortnight during term time.
